The palm has many useful benefits and characteristics. The skin of the stem can be peeled off and used as rope and used to weave into cots. In some parts of Tamil Nadu, a variety of rice flour cakes (Kolukattai) is prepared using the leaf.
Palmyra is dioecious with male and female flowers on separate plants. The male flowers are less than 1 cm long and form semi-circular clusters, which are hidden beneath scale-like bracts within the catkin-like inflorescences.
These 30-meter tall trees, produce juicy sap and can be consumed before and after fermentation. The sour drink is called Tari and the sweet juice is called Taler Ross.

These magnificent and tall trees also called the Asian Palmyra tree or Borassus Flabellifera. The tree appears to be gigantic with long leaves. This tree provides fruit known to be ice apple, sugar palm, and toddy palm, etc.
The tree yields black fruits that have a thin but protective shield to hide the pulpy, fleshy, and juicy core. These seeds are hemmed with thin yellowish skin with two or four severance and with white pulp that can be easily consumed.

It is a natural cooler for our body and fights against skin problems, diabetes, migraines, and more.
These wild trees are found in Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal, India, etc., and are grown commonly in some parts of China and Pakistan.
Every food and fruit has its own specialty and benefits. So also the Palmyra palm. Toddy's palm contains water-soluble vitamins, minerals, and fats that nourish our bodies and keep us healthy.
